Georgioupolis

Georgioupolis is a small seaside in the border of between Chania and Rethymno but it belongs in the prefecture of Chania. The area around Georgioupolis is called Apokoronas and has many small picturesque villages and verdant landscapes. One of the highlights of Georgioupolis is the river Almyros. Just before it reaches the sea of Georgioupolis, it forms a little lake that it houses many animals and especially birds.

Sfakia

Sfakia is the most southern part of Crete and Europe and belongs to the prefecture of Chania. Everyone that visits Sfakia is amazed by the natural beauty of this town. It is a place of complete relaxation and tranquility. Instead of a noisy town you can expect to find small coves, crystal clear water in sweet water beaches, gorges and exquisite food.

Palaiochora

Palaiochora is located 77 km south of Chania. The town is built on a long and narrow peninsula that stretches into the Libyan Sea, that is the reason why Palaiochora is called “The bride of the Libyan Sea”.

Kissamos

Kissamos (also Kastelli Kissamou) is a small town 37 km away from Chania and lies between the two large peninsulas of the western Crete (Gramvousa and Rodopou).

Elos

Elos is a traditional village located 60 km southwest of Chania on the way to the Monastery of Chrissoskalitissa and to the sandy beach of Elafonissi. In the village visitors can find the remains of a large old mill and the Byzantine church of Agios Ioannis.

Souda

Souda is located just 6 km from Chania and south of the Akrotiri peninsula. Although the north coast within the bay is prohibited to be approached by ships and boats due to the fact that it is a military territory, the southwestern part of the bay is a very busy an beautiful port.

Falasarna

Falasarna is a very famous and beautiful beach located only 16 km west of Kastelli and 59 km west of Chania. It is known for the excellent sandy beach and the crystal clear waters.
